A swath of a Texas town was given the all-clear after authorities advised the area to evacuate on Thursday during the investigation of a bomb threat near a county courthouse.

The evacuation zone spanned a 2-mile radius in the downtown Angleton area near the Brazoria County Courthouse, the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a post on Facebook.

“After multiple thorough sweeps of the area, authorities have found no materials or devices that pose a danger to the community,” the sheriff’s office said. “The evacuation advisory has been lifted, and there is no ongoing threat.”

The sheriff’s office initially said that the courthouse was evacuated as a precaution, and several roads were shut down after a threat was made. Later, the sheriff’s office advised a 2-mile swath of the downtown area to evacuate.

The sheriff’s office said a threat has been made near the Brazoria County Courthouse, and, as a precaution, the courthouse is being evacuated. Authorities later advised a 2-mile radius of downtown Angleton, Texas, to also evacuate. (Google Maps)
