One month after the murder of UAB psychology major Kayla Fanaei, police have found no suspects.
However, the police were given an anonymous telephone tip days after the shooting.
Fanaei's death caused great distress in Birmingham earlier last month. Her body was found in a parking lot at 1:00 a.m. after talking on the phone with a friend.
Last Thursday, a concert featuring the music of Red Halo was held in celebration of Fanaei's life. The proceeds of went primarily to a scholarship that UAB will offer in Fanaei's name.
In spite of the festivities last week, Fanaei's family continues to search for peace. The way she was taken from them was hard to bear, especially since the cause her death is still shrouded in mystery.
According to CBS News, Fanaei's brother Kavon said: "I'm wishing of course that the person would have already been caught by now.... But I think they're doing all they can do and I hope they are."
According to CBS Local News in order for investigations to progress, the police "need to ask follow up questions on information (informants) originally gave us." Those with information are allowed to remain anonymous.
The Fanaei family is offering a $20,000 reward for anyone who has information concerning their daughter's death.
