The Miss Samford Pageant is this Friday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. in the Wright Center. Here is a look at the contestants.
Contestant 1: Katie Robertson
Senior psychology major and French and vocal performance minor from Atlanta, Ga.
Dream date: "I'm such a romantic when it comes to dream dates! I would say a romantic dinner on a cliff overlooking the clear blue ocean on a breezy, cool evening."
Favorite book: "The Purpose Driven Life"
Contestant 2: Amber Duke
Junior religion major and nutrition and dietetics minor from Wilmer, Ala.
Most embarrassing moment: "Getting hit on the head with a baseball in front of almost my entire high school."
Favorite movie: "Sabrina" (with Audrey Hepburn)
Dream vacation: Europe

Junior nursing major from Brierfield, Ala.
Passion: Music
Favorite Book: "God's Smuggler"
Greatest fear: Losing an immediate family member suddenly.
Dream date: Matthew McConaughey

Freshman undeclared major from Thorsby, Ala.
Most embarrassing moment: "I threw up on a date. I guess that should've been the first sign that the relationship was never really going to work."
Favorite book: "Redeeming Love"

Freshman physical therapy major and Spanish and nutrition and dietetics minor from Hoover, Ala.
Greatest fear: Cockroaches
Dream date: "My dream date would have to be April 23 because it's not too hot, and it's not too cold. It's just perfect for a light sweater!"

Dream date: Spending a day in the Irish countryside with a red-haired Irish soccer player/professional chef with a faux hawk.

Sophomore piano performance major from Birmingham, Ala.
Most embarrassing moment: "Too many to count, especially those when I fall up the stairs."

Freshman psychology major from Jasper, Ala.
Passion: To help disabled children and to bring the Miracle League to the Birmingham area.
Favorite book: "Suzanne's Diary to Nicholas"
Most embarrassing moment: "The other day I yelled at Liz Windley across the quad... but it wasn't her."

Greatest fear: "Being in a car accident, but, hey, I have already been through that!"
Most embarrassing moment: "During my senior year of high school, I was taking the AP English exam and fell out of my seat in the middle of the test."
