Students judge recipes

Twelve nutrition majors gave several hours of their time on Friday and Saturday to prepare and taste 30 semi-finalist recipes submitted to Taste of the South magazine's Ultimate Krispy Kreme Recipe Contest. The contest was a joint effort between Taste of the South and Krispy Kreme.

Symphony intended for young adult audience

Many college students and young professionals have a certain idea of classical music. The Alabama Symphony Orchestra is aiming to turn that idea upside down. "I think the impression that some people get about classical music is that it is tame, sweet and benign," Kevin Kozak, music faculty at Samford and member of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, said.
