The campus safety officer who reported encountering an armed man on campus Friday morning has admitted to fabricating the story.
Early this morning a campus wide text message was sent that stated "Alert: SU-Emergency- A suspicious person with a weapon is on campus. Remain in your dorm until ALL CLEAR. THIS IS NOT A TEST." An African American man with a gun was apparently spotted outside of Robinson Hall, the Cumberland Law school building.
Results from a new ranking by the Center for College Affordability and Productivity (CCAP) were released yesterday, May 6, placing Samford University as 27th among all national universities.
The CCAP is an independent, non-profit organization that studies higher education issues.
Renowned broadcast journalist and author Cokie Roberts will speak in Brock Recital Hall on Tuesday, May 13.
The event will take place at 4 p.m. and is sponsored by Alabama Booksmith, a bookstore located in downtown Birmingham.

Perseverance pays off, especially for the Samford softball team. The Bulldogs completed a three-game sweep over UT-Martin last weekend, clutching the final spot in the OVC Tournament.
