Tottenham are looking to Italy for striker targets this summer and have Dušan Vlahović and Simy on their radar.
Spurs are in the market for attacking support for Harry Kane, who chairman Daniel Levy is determined to keep at the club this season despite interest from Manchester City.
Fabio Paratici, the newly appointed managing director of football, has already moved for Serie A players and landed Pierluigi Gollini from Atalanta and is trying to sign his team-mate Cristian Romero.
Vlahović and Simy are players under consideration at Spurs after impressing last season. Serbia striker Vlahović had a breakthrough season at Fiorentina in terms of goalscoring, netting 21 times in all competitions. He has attracted interest from other clubs in Europe and is valued at around £50 million.
Simy, 29, would be a cheaper option after Crotone’s relegation from the top flight. The Nigeria international also broke through the 20-goal barrier but could not prevent his team finishing in the relegation zone in the top flight.
Spurs are looking for attacking support rather than a replacement for Kane, even though the England captain has publicly stated that he would like to be considered for a move and listed City as a preferred destination.
As reported by the Daily Telegraph, Southampton’s Danny Ings was a striker being considered as he has one year left on his deal at St Mary’s and has not agreed fresh terms.
Paratici’s arrival has widened the net of potential targets to bolster Spurs’ attack for new coach Nuno Espirito Santo. Spurs have also signed winger Bryan Gil from Sevilla in a swap deal with Erik Lamela.
Last season they loaned Carlos Vinicius from Benfica and the Brazilian striker scored 10 goals in his role as back-up for Kane, making most of his appearances in cup matches or Europe.
Gollini’s arrival means Joe Hart can move from the club following his free transfer last season to be back-up to Hugo Lloris.
