If you love cake and you love pink gin, there's a brand new treat combining the two awaiting you at Asda right now.
That's because best-selling gin brand Gordon’s has launched a brand-new cake based on its much-loved pink flavour.
The delicious-looking treat is inspired the hugely popular ombre trend, making it perfect for showing off on Instagram and impressing loved ones any summer parties. We're huge fans of pink gin – so this announcement is music to our ears.
Available in Asda stores for £12, this indulgent layer cake is made up of pink and white sponge, raspberry jam filling and is topped with Gordon’s Premium Pink flavoured frosting, edible sugar pearls and dried raspberries. How amazing does that sound? Gin lovers can currently also pick up a bottle of Gordon's Pink Gin from Tesco for just £16.50.
Krispy Kreme launch two new flavours for summer and they look delicious
The brand-new cake marks the first time Gordon’s has branched into the bakery world, so it is the first official “pink gin” cake on the market. We can't wait to get our hands on one.
A spokesperson told the Mirror: “At Gordon’s we work hard to challenge the industry, stay ahead of the curve and set the trends when it comes to our special Distilled Collection.
“We invest heavily in product innovation and following the hugely successful launch of our Premium Pink Gin in 2017, we wanted to create something really different and special for our customers. There was no better choice than partnering with Finsbury to make our cake dreams a reality.”
It looks perfect for picnics and birthday parties
While Emma Hamilton, of cake manufacturer Finsbury Food Group, said: "At Finsbury we are always looking for ways to bring innovation into the cake category, and excite the public with the launch of new products that they’ve never seen before.
"We know gin lovers will want to snap this up, but we’ve made sure that there’s enough beautiful flavours and toppings to delight those who aren’t as partial to gin too!
"We are thrilled to be collaborating with Gordon’s on their first cake, hopefully the first of many, and can’t wait to see people enjoying the Premium Pink cake as it lands this summer."
Gordon’s Premium Pink Cake is available in Asda stores and online now – so what are you waiting for? You can find out your nearest Asda using its store finder. The sweet treat will also be available in Tesco from the 6th September.
Meanwhile, Aldi has launched a footlong sushi roll for just £2.49 and it looks delicious.
The bargain footlong feast features two classic sushi flavours all packed into one irresistible roll.
And sweet-toothed shoppers can rejoice because Krispy Kreme has released two new flavours for summer.
The brand's Summer Chill range includes Mint Choc Chip and Raspberry Ripple-flavoured doughnuts as well as classic ice cream flavoured shakes for a limited time only – so we wouldn’t hang about.
