It's a sad fact that sometimes first dates don't go so well and sometimes they can even take a scary turn.
If you're out at a pub or a bar and find yourself in this kind of situation, it turns out there's a very subtle – yet effective – way you can ask a member of staff for help.
A TikTok user named @BenjiSpears has gone viral on the video-sharing platform after explaining the simple code word you can use that will alert bartenders to your trouble – and your date will likely be none the wiser.
In his video, Benji, who works as a bartender in Los Angeles, reenacts a situation in which he's working behind a bar and spots a woman on a date who looks uncomfortable.
He goes over to check all is ok, offers the pair some more water and then the woman orders an angel shot with lime.

When the reenactment is over, Benji explains that ordering an angel shot could potentially save a life.
He says: "Angel shots are becoming more common and more known throughout all bars and it's being brought to bartenders attention.
"Ok so an angel shot is key, it can save you or your best friend's life and it's something we should all know about.
"So there are three ways you can order the angel shot, you can do the angel shot with lime. Ok so angel shot with lime when you order it, it means you need the police so the bartender will notify a manager and we'll get the police involved for you.
"Second you can order an angel shot neat, that means you need someone to walk you to your car, a bartender or security, someone needs to walk you to your car because you don't feel safe."

And the final option was an angel shot on the rocks, which means you need the bartender to call you an Uber or a taxi to get you home safe.
Benji adds: "I think this is a great learning lesson. Everyone should know about the angel shot.
"It's just a great way to make sure that we all feel safe."
The video has since gone viral, being viewed over seven million times and garnering more than two million likes.
Thousands of people also commented to share their thoughts and thank Benji for posting.
One said: "It's important to note that Benji didn't leave her side once she said that. Purps might know what that means and this put her in danger."
A second wrote: "You are an angel for posting this."
A third replied: "An angel shot with lime actually did save my life. Thank you for posting this."
Someone else proclaimed: "In the UK we have 'ask for Angela' so go up to the bar and say 'is Angela working tonight?' etc and it means the exact same thing, please help me."
