Hector Bellerin is prepared to leave Arsenal this summer but the club have yet to receive an official bid for the Spain right-back.
The 26-year-old has spent his entire senior career at the Emirates Stadium but would consider a new challenge after moving from Barcelona’s youth system a decade ago.
Bellerin has been considering his future and was the subject of interest from Bayer Leverkusen last summer, then teams from La Liga in the January window. He was still used regularly during the season and started 24 matches in the Premier League for Mikel Arteta.
So far clubs in the market for a right-back have not made offers for Bellerin and a late fight for his signature may depend on Arsenal being willing to consider an initial loan with an obligation to buy at the end of 2021/22.
Arsenal have been looking at right-back options in the event of Bellerin leaving in the current window and they also have Cedric Soares or Calum Chambers who can play there, or Bukayo Saka as a wing-back.
Southampton move for Chelsea’s Dynel Simeu
Southampton are close to signing Dynel Simeu from Chelsea after his contract expired at Stamford Bridge.
The 19-year-old centre-back played in the Southampton area as a schoolboy before being recruited for Chelsea, where he played for the Under-23s last season.
Southampton were also interested in Tino Livramento from Chelsea’s Academy but Brighton are winning the race for the right wing-back.
Mario Lemina is a potential depature at St Mary’s, with Newcastle interested in signing him. That deal would make funds available for Blackburn striker Adam Armstrong, who is Ralph Hasenhuttl’s primary target to bolster his attack.
Chelsea keep hunting for third-choice goalkeeper
Chelsea are stepping up their search for a third-choice goalkeeper and have Sergio Romero on their list of candidates.
Telegraph Sport reported this week that Middlesbrough’s Marcus Bettinelli is a potential No 3 at Stamford Bridge behind Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Romero is also being considered after his contract at Manchester United expired at the end of the season. The Argentina goalkeeper, who played in the 2014 World Cup final, has been assessing his options as he looks for his next club as a free agent.
Getafe wing-back Marc Cucurella’s move to Brighton stutters
Brighton’s move for Getafe wing-back Marc Cucurella has hit a stumbling block as his Spanish club are insisting on his full buy-out clause being paid.
The Spain international can be bought for £15million, which Brighton are not close to yet as they step up their search for competition at left-back.
Fulham seek Norwich’s Tom Trybull on loan
Fulham are interested in landing Tom Trybull on loan from Norwich City for the season.
Trybull, 28, was allowed out last season and played regularly at Blackburn Rovers, with Daniel Farke set to assess whether he is needed in the Premier League following promotion.
Marco Silva, recently appointed at Craven Cottage, is looking to bolster his squad and midfielder Trybull has experience in the top-flight and Championship after arriving from Dutch club Den Haag four years ago.
