Chelsea are ready to ramp up their efforts in the transfer window this summer with several targets in mind.

The Blues are yet to splash the cash this year, despite winning the Champions League last season after a 1-0 win over Manchester City.

Roman Abramovich forked out over £200m in the summer of 2020 on players such as Kai Havertz, Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech.

But Thomas Tuchel has yet to see a signing since his appointment in January while he is keen to reinforce Chelsea's attack and midfield.

Here are the latest transfer rumours, gossip and news this Sunday.

Kane and Abraham swap

Kane wants to leave Tottenham this summer

Chelsea are looking to move on from their search for a new striker with Erling Haaland appear to hard to land, with Harry Kane taking on as the new top target.

The rivalry between the club and Tottenham would make this deal seem impossible but there has been encouragement over a potential swap deal.

According to The Athletic, Tammy Abraham could be used as a makeweight in a deal that would see Kane move from north London to west.

Spurs chief Daniel Levy is battling to keep hold of the England international amid interest from Manchester City, too.

But Kane remains keen on leaving, which would mean Tottenham will have to make the best out of a bad situation – and Abraham has been tipped as a potential replacement.

That would give the Blues a boost as they can use the forward during their negotiations – though a hefty sum of cash will also be expected.

Rice talks open

Chelsea have opened informal talks with West Ham over a move for Declan Rice, who is a top target once again.

Last year, Frank Lampard was desperate to land the England international only to be knocked back by his own board.

A season later, and the Stamford Bridge supremos have been won round and are willing to sanction a deal.

But they want to find out what a transfer could cost them, with Bleacher Report journalist Dean Jones claiming on The Football Terrace YouTube show that a move could happen.

He said: “Let’s call it an informal enquiry. Chelsea are definitely going to go to West Ham and say what’s it going to take. They’re going to do it because they want to know.

“Even if they don’t decide to pursue it after that point, they need to get the ball rolling, they need to know how possible it is and they know that the player wants to come.”

Werner 'worry'

Chelsea cannot go into the new season with Timo Werner as their main striker.

That is the view of ex-Arsenal star and Blues fan Paul Merson, who is worried about the Germany international.

After battling Liverpool for his signature, Chelsea won the battle to land the RB Leipzig star but it has been a tough first year.

Werner scored just 12 goals in all competitions, and just six in the Premier League as Merson expressed his concern.

He said: “In my opinion, Chelsea need a forward. I don’t know what the deal is with Erling Haaland, but they need someone who can score 20 Premier League goals a season.

"Timo Werner is a different kind of player – he’s a willing runner who works hard for the team and is very unselfish.

"However, he doesn’t strike me as someone who can score 20 goals a season, so it’ll be interesting to see what happens there.
