Donny van de Beek hasn't had the easiest time at Manchester United following his £40.5million move from Ajax just over a year ago.
The Dutch midfielder arrived with a lot of promise and potential, but he found himself resigned to bit-part appearances during his debut season.
As a result, it was reported he could make way this summer and potentially move to Spain, with both Barcelona and Real Madrid linked.
But now, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has appeared to indicate the midfielder will stay at Old Trafford next season.
The United boss spoke of Van de Beek playing in front of packed out crowds at Old Trafford once the new Premier League campaign gets going, and described the experience as "different" to what the midfielder will have experienced at the club so far.

"You’ve not experienced Manchester United until you’ve scored in front of the Stretford End," said Solskjaer.
"Of course, Edi [Edinson Cavani] scored in front of some of them, and they’ve both scored in that end, but now, when it’s a full stadium, it will be different for the two of them.
"Manchester United with and without fans are two different things.

There had been rumours suggesting United would offer up Van de Beek in an attempt to convince Real Madrid to lower their asking price for Raphael Varane.
The French centre-back is one of United's remaining targets after signing Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund for £73m, but is unlikely to come cheap.

Madrid are said to be ready to ask for £40m, and it was suggested United would try to offer up Van de Beek as a makeweight.
But it now seems that is unlikely, and that the youngster will remain at Old Trafford to act as cover in the event of Paul Pogba leaving.
Pogba is now in the final year of his contract at United, and still seems a long way away from signing an extension.
Paris Saint-Germain are said to be eager to sign him if they can offload players, and his departure would likely lead to an increased role for Van de Beek.
Solskjaer has made no secret of his desire to keep Pogba at the club and tie him down to a long-term contract, but it remains to be seen whether a move away will be more tempting to the player.
Either way, it seems Van de Beek will be staying put at United.
