The eyes of the footballing world will be glued to London and Wembley tonight as England take on Italy in the Euro 2020 final.

Gareth Southgate's side have united a nation and are just one game away from ending 55 years of hurt in major tournaments.

South America's own Copa America also came to its conclusion this weekend with Argentina beating Brazil in Rio de Janeiro.

And with those two major international tournaments coming to their conclusions, there is the chance that the transfer window will finally kick into action.

As expected, it has been a quiet start to the summer window, with many clubs waiting for players to return from their respective competitions before negotiations can begin.

Jadon Sancho's £72.9million transfer to Manchester United is the biggest so far in the Premier League but could just be the first of many high-profile signings.

Here is the latest gossip from England and beyond:

Sampdoria have told Liverpool and Tottenham they will need to pay £34m if they are to sign Euro 2020 hero Mikkel Damsgaard.

The winger played a starring role in Denmark’s emotional run to the semi-finals, scoring in their must win group game against Russia and then in the 2-1 defeat to England in the last four.

Those performances have seen his stock rise hugely and Sampdoria could cash in with Juventus and Barcelona also interested in acquiring his services.

La Gazetta dello Sport claim the Serie A outfit have set their valuation and will stick staunchly to it, particularly with the prospect of an auction between some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Spurs are looking for new recruits following the appointment of Nuno Espirito Santo, while Jurgen Klopp will want to keep adding to his options ahead of a title tilt next term.

Chelsea want 'immediate' Haaland transfer

Thomas Tuchel remains committed to sealing a deal for Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland, according to reports in Germany.

With Olivier Giroud's imminent exit, Chelsea are facing up to the prospect of going into the new season with just two senior strikers.

And after Tuchel opted to start Timo Werner on the left and has seemingly deemed Tammy Abraham surplus to requirements a new arrival looks likely.

Dortmund are adamant to keep Haaland and have slapped a €175m price tag on him. They may not deter the Blues however and BILD suggest they want an 'immediate' transfer to be completed.

The report adds that Chelsea, along with Real Madrid and Manchester City are clubs that the player himself could imagine playing for in the future.

Liverpool dealt Saul blow

Liverpool have seen a €40m bid rejected by Atletico Madrid for Saul Niguez, according to reports in Spain.

News of Liverpool’s interest in the midfielder emerged earlier this week, with Jurgen Klopp still searching for a Gini Wijnaldum replacement.

Mundo Deportivo claim that opening bid was rejected but did suggest that the player had ‘half a foot in Liverpool’, only for Barcelona to enter the picture.

They add that the Blaugrana have made an offer which appeals to both club and manager Diego Simeone.

There is also the idea that Antoine Griezmann could be used as a potential makeweight with Barca keen to get the Frenchman’s salary off their bloated wage bill.
