Wendy Williams has been slammed over her "disrespectful" coverage of a TikTok star’s murder.
The US talk show host showed a photo of Matima Miller, better known as Swavy or Babyface.s for his dance moves, as part of her Hot Topics segment.
She introduced it by asking the studio audience to "clap" if they knew who Swavy was.
When only a few people reacted, Wendy turned to her camera crew and asked them the same question.
"He’s a TikTok star and he’s got more followers than me. 2.5 million," she explained.
The camera then cut to one of her crew members who siad: "On TikTok – but on Instagram you have more followers."
Wendy Williams has angered fans with her comments about murdered TikTok star, Swavy
As the audience erupted into applause, Wendy said: "Well as my son, Kevin, would say, 'no one uses Instagram anymore.'
"TikTok, I don't use that at all. I don’t know what that is. I don't want to be involved."
Wendy then turned to look at the photo of Swavy, which had been shown behind her throughout, and some audience members laughed thinking it was going to be a light-hearted story.
This quickly turned to gasps as Wendy told them: "He’s 19, and he was murdered Monday morning."

Another said: "Did she really need to look him up and down like that before breaking the news that he was murdered? Like she’s the only one who knew where this was going and she still chose to sprinkle a little nasty on it first."
A third said: "She & everyone in the audience are so disrespectful.
"Right after this she said 'those poor followers' & everyone started laughing. Imagine his family seeing this? Absolutely disgusting. I can’t wait till I see that this show is getting canceled. Should’ve happened a long time ago."
