Tamzin Outhwaite has opened up for the first time about her experience of saving three children from drowning.
The former EastEnders star saved the lives of three children who got into difficulty while in the water and onlookers recalled how she had quickly dived into help.
A source said she had jumped "into the water without hesitation" in a "dramatic" rescue.
And now opening up about what happened for the first time, Tamzin admitted she was just "relieved" everyone was OK.
She wrote to her 241,000 Twitter followers: "Thank you for the many messages I received regarding recent stories in publications about me saving 3 children from drowning.
Tamzin admits the experience was traumatic for her
"They were all from the same family, who could not swim & I did not know them. It was traumatic for all but i am just relieved that they are all ok."
A witness saw what unfolded at the pool party and told The Sun how Tamzin "plucked the youngest child to safety," before she got the other two youngsters and rescued them too.
The actress is best known for her role in EastEnders
"Without a second’s doubt she entered the pool and plucked the youngest child to safety, before grabbing the other two," the source told the publication.
"She reacted so fast that nobody else had even gone into the water by the time they were all safe.
"There were a couple of doctors at the party who checked the kids were OK and gave them a clean bill of health. But it left many people shaken."
She starred in the BBC One soap from 1998 to 2002 and then again between 2017 and 2019
The actress has been dubbed a "superstar", as the source praised her for not wanting to make a fuss.
"Tamzin really is a superstar. She didn’t want a fuss, which is why she’s so popular. She’s so down-to-earth," the insider said.
"But it doesn’t bear thinking about what might have happened had she not spotted the kids in trouble. Everyone should know just what a true legend she really is."
