Manchester United should not have any worries about handing Jadon Sancho the number seven shirt, according to the winger’s former coach.
Sancho is set to be officially unveiled as a United player following the conclusion of Euro 2020 at Wembley this weekend.
United announced last week that they have agreed a deal in principle with Borussia Dortmund for the 21-year-old, with a £73million transfer now just a matter of time.
Sancho will undertake a medical after England’s final against Italy on Sunday night to complete the final step of his long-awaited move to Old Trafford.

The sight of the winger in a United shirt has been a long time coming, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side falling short in their pursuit last summer, but one detail remains unresolved.
Sancho wears the No 7 shirt for Dortmund and has begun to build a 'JS7' brand on the back of his eye-catching performances in Germany.

Edinson Cavani wore United’s No 7 last season and, with the Uruguayan striker signing a fresh one-year contract, the club are facing a potential problem.
The number comes with added pressure at Old Trafford, but Louis Lancaster, who coached Sancho at Watford’s academy, believes the England winger has what it takes to embrace it.

"I don't think it would phase him, I think actually he'd be a better player for having that shirt, because of the pressure,” he told the Stretford Paddock YouTube channel.
"Some players choke and some people get a bit more, 10 per cent [under pressure].
"I say give him the shirt."
While Cavani is the current wearer of the United No 7 shirt, he is far from the only star to don the jersey.
George Best, David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo and Eric Cantona all made the number famous for United, but recent years have been more notable for the struggles associated with the number.
Alexis Sanchez, Memphis Depay and Angel Di Maria all arrived at Old Trafford with big reputations to take up the shirt, yet all left having failed to live up to expectations.
Sancho has established himself as one of the world’s most exciting young players having contributed 16 goals and 14 assists for Dortmund last season.

He has been a long-term target for Solskjaer, with United lacking a right-winger for some time, but should the club risk angering Cavani by giving him the No 7?
United have precedent for taking such a decision, taking the No 9 shirt off Anthony Martial to accommodate Zlatan Ibrahimovic in 2016.
But it remains to be seen whether Cavani will swap numbers to give Sancho the No 7 shirt for the 2021/22 season.
