On their first date, things got “sweaty” and a little bit “weird”… and Olly Murs knew she was the one for him.
The Voice star has admitted he was surprised when Amelia Tank suggested the pair went to the gym for their debut meet-up.
Olly had first clocked Amelia on Instagram. “I thought, ‘Cor, she’s a right sort’,” he says, poetically.
The pair began messaging and Amelia suggested they spend their first date working out together.
“I’d never had a girl ask me that and it threw me off guard,” he says. “It’s something different. I love training so I thought it would be fun.”

The date made their hearts beat faster as they took each other’s breath away… and they also really fancied each other.
“We had a really sweaty, weird training session… Amelia loved it and I enjoyed it. In a couple of weeks, we were dating.”
The self-confessed “commitment phobe” tells Joe Wicks’ podcast: “I already knew at that point she was someone I could spend the rest of my life with. I did that typical man thing and went, ‘I can’t commit, I’m not ready’. I called it off, and then I rekindled the relationship on tour. I’m so happy I did. When you know, you know.”
