Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel are looking to build on an impressive season that saw them crowned European champions.

The German only arrived in January but quickly settled in at Stamford Bridge.

He worked with a lavishly assembled squad that has been built by Frank Lampard and will no doubt want to bring in his own players.

The talent in the Blues squad means there are few weak areas, but Tuchel will still have his own ideas.

Timo Werner struggled to settle in west London and his lack of goals did harm Chelsea at times meaning a new striker will be high on their shortlist.

Harry Kane has expressed a desire to leave Tottenham but their rivalry with the Blues means he is more likely to head elsewhere.

These are the latest transfer rumours from Stamford Bridge.

Haaland alternatives being eyed

Chelsea continue to track Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland as they look to bring in a striker this summer.

Timo Werner has been unable to produce the form he showed in the Bundesliga having moved to west London 12 months ago.

Haaland is among the most wanted players in Europe with Chelsea among those eyeing his services, but they are continuing to scout for alternatives should they fail to secure the Norwegian.

According to Fichajes, Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez is also on Tuchel's radar.

The Italian champions are in trouble financially and have been forced to allow several key personnel to leave.

Martinez has scored 40 times over the past two seasons and would provide Chelsea with an attacking edge.

Milan put timer on Giroud

AC Milan want a deal for Olivier Giroud wrapped up by the end of this week, reports Corriere dello Sport.

The Serie A outfit want the striker to join up in time for their pre-season preparations.

Chelsea triggered a contract extension in the 34-year-old's contract recently to prevent him leaving for free, but they are now under pressure to make a decision.

Should he make the move to Milan, Giroud will sign a two-year contract at the San Siro worth £3.4million.

The Frenchman has said previously: "It’s fair to remember that I liked Marco van Basten and Andriy Shevchenko.

“Milan are a big club and one of the great teams in Europe."

PSG win Hakimi race

Chelsea's hopes of signing Inter full-back Achraf Hakimi had looked slim, but they are now over after PSG completed the signing.

The Morocco international will cost around £52m with a further £9m being paid in add-ons.

Hakimi spent just one year in Italy, but won the Serie A title as his stock continued to rise.

Tuchel has often played a wing-back system, which would've perfectly suited Hakimi's qualities such was Chelsea's interest.

He may now have to explore other options with Wolves ' Adama Traore also linked.
