Iggy Azalea has shared her support for the #FreeBritney movement as she claims she has "witnessed" the alleged behaviour from the pop star's dad Jamie.

The Australian rapper, 31, has spoken out about the conservatorship Britney is currently under.

Toxic singer Britney, 39, has been under a conservatorship since she suffered a mental health breakdown in 2008 and she recently in court made a string of allegations against her dad to a Los Angeles judge last week.

Some of her allegations included her being made to take the drug lithium against her will as well as being forced onto contraception, allegations which have been denied by her father.

She told the judge that she wanted the "abusive" conservatorship to end.

However, Judge Brenda J Penny denied the pop star's request to remove her estranged father as conservator on Wednesday, reports TMZ.

Now, Iggy, who worked with Britney in 2015, has voiced her concerns for the star as she alleged she has seen Jamie's "abusive" behaviour first-hand.

Iggy told her fans that it "should be illegal" that Jamie has not been removed as Britney's conservator as she believes he is "negatively impacting her mental health".

Alongside the hashtag #FreeBritney, she wrote on Twitter : "It's basic human decency to at the very least remove a person Britney has identified as abusive from her life. This should be illegal.

"During the time we worked together in 2015, I personally witnessed the same behaviour Britney detailed in regards to her father last week and I just want to back her up & tell the world that: she is not exaggerating or lying.

"I saw her restricted from the most bizarre & trivial things: like how many sodas she was allowed to drink. Why is that even necessary?

"Her father conveniently waited until literally moments before our BMAs performance when I was backstage in the dressing room & told me if I did not sign an NDA he would not allow me on stage.

"The way he went about getting me to sign a contract, sounded similar to the tactics Britney spoke about last week in regards to her Las Vegas show.

"Jamie Spears has a habit of making people sign documents while under duress it seems, and Britney Spears should not be forced to co-exist with that man when she's made it clear it is negatively impacting her mental health.

"This is not right at all."

Britney's lawyer, Sam Ingham, is said to have asked the court to suspend Jamie from conservatorship duties in November last year but the request was denied back then too.

TMZ reports that the lawyer wanted Jamie replaced by Bessemer Trust, which would have become the sole conservator of her estate, but the judge rejected this call.

It is expected that Britney's legal team will file a motion requesting to remove Jamie again.

Jamie is a joint conservator of his daughter's finances and was in charge of her personal affairs until September 2019 when he stepped down.

Care manager Jodi Montgomery, a licensed fiduciary, was appointed temporary conservator of the singer's personal affairs and Britney started a legal process last year to stop her father from ever returning to the position.

Jamie's attorneys said in the new filing that he didn't want to reclaim the position and was not involved in her "personal care or medical or reproductive issues."

In her remarks to the court last week, Britney Spears called her father "ignorant" and controlling. "He loved every minute of it, the control he had. He loved it," she said.

The Mirror has contacted Britney's representative for a comment.
