Cher has weighed in over Britney Spears' conservatorship after a judge denied the pop star's request to remove her dad Jamie Spears as her conservator for a second time.

The singer, 75, took to her Twitter on Thursday to share her thoughts on the outcome of the recent court hearing, where Britney made a string of allegations against her dad to a Los Angeles judge last week.

Toxic singer Britney, 39, has been under a conservatorship since she suffered a mental health breakdown in 2008.

She told the judge that she wanted the "abusive" conservatorship to end.

Now Cher has had her say, writing on social media: "This Is f**kng Insane. Her Father & Conservator Need. Cant She Get Checked out By Completely impartial Ppl Who Don't Make Off of Her. Hasn't Her Father & The Chick Done Enough 2 Britney."

Fans of Britney, who support the #FreeBritney movement, also joined in with the conversation.

One person agreed: "Just thinking the same thing! WHY doesn't she have the support of her MOM."

Someone else responded: "Because its the whole family thats using her its not just her dad Even her sister is using her."

A third added: "They are just using her to get whatever they want from her! I could not believe the judge did not rule in her favor! She is a grown woman and needs to be able to do her own thing without any of her family involved!"

Judge Brenda J Penny denied the pop star's request to remove her estranged father as conservator on Wednesday, reports TMZ.

The responsibility for her finances, and other areas of her life, lie with her dad after her breakdown in 2008 under the legal arrangement.

The singer made several bombshell claims – that included that she's unable to get married and have more children as she's been put on contraception by her 'team' and that she was forced to take a strong mood stabilising drug.

And now, the judge has made her ruling that Jamie will remain the I'm a Slave 4 U singer's conservator and that she will not be freed from the legal order.

A court filing stated that Judge Brenda Penny has refused the request for Jamie to be ousted as she lists both Britney's father and The Bessemer Trust as co-conservators.

The Guardian report that the document states: "The conservatee’s request to suspend James P Spears immediately upon the appointment of Bessemer Trust Company Of California, NA as sole conservator of estate is denied without prejudice."
