Sajid Javid’s appointment as Health Secretary to replace Matt Hancock could mark a ‘remarkable comeback’ for the former Home Secretary, according to The Telegraph’s Deputy Political Editor Lucy Fisher.
The new Health Secretary, known in Westminster as ‘The Saj’, has wasted no time in aligning himself with ministers who are pushing for lockdown to end as soon as possible.
"The mood music of what he said in the past year about having to weigh up the cost as the benefits [of lockdown] means that many Conservative MPs think that the likelihood of another lockdown this Autumn becomes a lot less likely."
