Jennifer Aniston has admitted she didn't understand the levels of "anxiety and self-torture" felt by co-star Matthew Perry while they filmed Friends.
The actress, 52, who played Rachel Green in the iconic sitcom admitted that the Friends reunion show brought about revelations that she never had a clue about.
However, she said that looking back, "it makes a lot of sense".
Speaking on the Today show, the Murder Mystery star said: "I didn't understand the level of anxiety and self-torture [that] was put on Matthew Perry, if he didn't get that laugh, and the devastation that he felt."
The actor, 51, who played Chandler Bing in the show revealed the levels of pressure he put himself under when the cast reunited for the first time in 17 years.

He admitted he would "go into convulsions" if he had a supposedly funny line which didn't get the laughs from the audience that he'd hoped for.
"To me, I felt like I was going to die if they didn't laugh and it's not healthy, for sure," he said on Friends: The Reunion.
"If I didn't get the laugh I was supposed to get, I would freak out."

During the show, which aired last month, Lisa Kudrow – who played Phoebe Buffay – also shared her shock at the comments as she replied to him: "You didn't tell us that then."
Elsewhere in her chat on Today, Jennifer opened up on the revelation that she and co-star David Schwimmer – who played Ross Geller – had feelings for one another.
She said: "I think there was something about unrequited love,' she said. 'I think David and I loved each other – we love each other still to this day – so I do think there was something that had to do with that.

"And you were investing in something that was very relatable: the one that you never could have or the one you wanted to be with but they couldn't quite get it together."
On Wednesday, Jennifer told Sirius XM's The Howard Stern Show – that she would be "proud" to say she "banged" David Schwimmer – if it had happened.
In similar comments to those made on Today, the actress told the host: "We were in relationships, it was always never the right time and it wouldn't have worked.

"The beauty of that was that whatever feelings we had we just literally channelled everything into Ross and Rachel and I think that's maybe why it resonated the way it did. But no, we never – on my life, and Courteney and Lisa would know and can vouch for me."
