Motorway patrol officers were "shocked" to see a man on an e-scooter attempting to join traffic on a motorway near Bradford.

West Yorkshire Police spotted the man, who was travelling at about 15mph, on the M606. Fortunately, police managed to stop him before he swerved into the path of vehicles going 70mph.

West Yorkshire Police said: "Officers on patrol were shocked to see this E-Scooter on the chevrons trying to join a live motorway lane with 70mph traffic.

"The scooter has been seized and rider reported.
