Two more men have been charged with conspiracy to murder over the shooting of a Black Lives Matter activist, say police.

Mum Sasha Johnson, 27, remains in a critical condition in hospital after being shot in the head at a party in Peckham, south London, in the early hours of May 23.

Prince Dixon, 25, from Gravesend, Kent, and 19-year-old Troy Reid from Southwark, have both been charged with conspiracy to murder.

Both men were arrested on Wednesday and charged on Thursday.

They have both been remanded in custody to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

Earlier this month Devonte Brown, 18, from Southwark, and 18-year-old Cameron Deriggs of Bromley Hill, Lewisham, were also charged with conspiracy to murder.

Deriggs also appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court and was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on June 25.

Ms Johnson, a member of the Taking The Initiative Party, was in the back garden of a house in Consort Road, Peckham, when a group of men burst in and opened fire.

A man in his 20s also suffered a superficial knife wound as violence erupted.

Police said there is no evidence to suggest the attack was targeted.

Detective Chief Inspector Richard Leonard, who is leading the investigation, said: “I know that there were at least 30 people there on the night Sasha was shot.

"Someone must have seen or know something that could help us get justice for Sasha and her family.

“Sasha dedicated her life to a cause she cared passionately about and it is disappointing that people do not feel motivated to help.

“Please come forward. If you know something but are concerned about contacting the police, there are ways that the information can be passed to us confidentially.”

Ellet Dalling released a statement through the Metropolitan Police that said: “What has happened to Sasha has left us devastated. She is currently fighting for her life in hospital, with two children asking where their mummy is. What do I tell them?

“Someone must have information to what happened and to come forward.

“Sasha is passionate about standing up for others; please come forward and stand up for Sasha.

“Come forward to help us. I know it is not always easy, but imagine if it was your daughter or the mother of your children. I believe there are people out there that can help.”
