D&D creators Wizards of the Coast and video games TV network G4 have come together to host a D&D live event, bringing a star-studded, adventuring party of celebrities together to play the role-playing adventure board game Dungeons and Dragons.

The epic comedy cast will be donning their armour, wielding their weapons and rolling their dice in the upcoming D&D Live 'The Lost Odyssey: Last Light Table', with all proceeds to be donated to the charity Extra Life, a charity that donates money to children's hospitals.

Since its inception in 2008, Extra Life has raised over $70 million for sick and injured children.

The team is assembled of legendary heroes, known for their comedic prowess and quick-witted improv skills, as well as swashbuckling antics.

Hollywood legend and rocker Jack Black will be joined by cult director, writer and actor Kevin Smith as well as comedian, musician and musical sidekick to Jame's Corden's The Late Late Show, Reggie Watts.

Film producer and comedian Jason Mews, as well as Orange is the New Black and Big Bang Theory actor Lauren Lapkus will make up the team.

The team will be led by veteran Dungeon Master Kate Welch known for formidable D&D skills on Fungeons & Flagons YouTube channel.

These five stalwart heroes will also be joined by a mysterious, yet to be announced special guest.

Our band of adventurers will be led to an investigation into dragons, krakens and sea giant queens.

Kate Welch said on the celebrities joining her:

“Holy c***, are you sure you want to put these people around a D&D table with me? I’m pretty sure it’s going to be bedlam, but maybe that’s what D&D Live is all about.

“In all honesty, I’m honoured to weave a tale for this group of incredibly funny folks. It’ll be a session you won’t forget!”

The Lost Odyssey: Last Light Table will take place during D&D Live on July 16 & 17 at 20:00 BST and will be broadcast on the D&D Twitch and Youtube channels as well as G4TV's Twitch and Youtube channels.

Fans watching will also receive more information on upcoming products from Wizards of the Coast, as well as interviews with the lead designers behind the annual D&D storyline "The Wild Beyond the Witchlight", the D&D sourcebook that is set in the Magic: The Gathering plane Strixhaven.

In addition, a few surprise announcements are also planned for D&D fans to get them excited for the event.
