Way back in 1999, model and budding photographer Penny Lancaster met Sir Rod Stewart and the singer agreed to let her take some snaps of him while on tour.
Fast forward seven years and, after romanced blossomed, the British rock singer popped the question to the blonde beauty at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
Due to the birth of their first child, Alastair in 2005, the pair wouldn't tie the knot in Italy until June 2007.
Since then, they have gone on to welcome their second child together, Rod's eighth, Aiden into the world in 2011 as well as continuing to share snippets of their romantic life together with the public with Penny often having loose lips when appearing on Loose Women.
The happy couple have been together for over two decades.
As the happy couple celebrate 14 years of wedded bliss, we take a look at some of their best quotes about life as man and wife.
Rod on spiritual sex
With eight children and a reputation for being a ladies man, it's no surprise that the 76-year-old rocker loves sex.
However, in an interview with The Sun, the Maggie May singer confessed a love of another form of affection.
"Sex becomes more spiritual as one gets older. I love sex with my wife, but I love just giving her a hug,” he revealed to the paper.
The couple often discuss their 'incredible' sex life.
“Every night we have a kiss and a hug, and that doesn’t always lead to sex but it’s still lovely.
"When I’m away from her a long time and I don’t get a hug, I really miss it.”
He added: “And I’m a great one for giving my children a cuddle. Although my dad loved me, and I loved him, we didn’t hug."

Penny on toe-licking
During her time as a presenter on Loose Women, Penny has certainly shocked some viewers with her honest confessions about sex with her husband Rod.
While appearing on the hit ITV show, she once admitted that the couple have involved toes in their sex life over the years.
Speaking to her co-hosts, the 50-year-old said: “There is that connection between the toes and other areas of your body, like the neck and your ears, so it can be quite sensual.
Penny often spills the beans on their love life on the ITV show.
“In the beginning of the relationship when you're having a go at all sorts of things … [Rod did] that sort of in between the toes. It feels nice!”
When questioned what Rod used to go “between the toes”, Penny replied: “His fingers or his tongue.”
Penny on prioritising Rod
Earlier this year, Loose Women viewers were horrified when the mum-of-two revealed she went out for dinner with her husband just hours after giving birth and having stitches.
Fellow panellists Charlene White, Nadia Sawalha and Judi Love were left speechless when Penny discussed leaving her mother at the hospital with her newborn baby while she ate out with Rod.
"I gave birth about 4 o'clock in the evening, Rod had preempted and booked dinner presuming I’d be in hospital," she recalled.
Viewers were shocked by Penny's confession.
"But I thought, 'Nope, I'm going to start as I means to go on' and I went for dinner with them."
She further discussed the experience, saying: "I was in euphoria for the few hours of giving birth. I had to sit with one cheek on the chair because of the pain, then my mum, who was at the hospital, called me and said, 'Darling we need you back, your baby is crying for milk.'"
Fellow mum and presenter Charlene told her: "That is a dedication to your man on a whole different level."
Penny on Rod being an older father
While Penny may have become a mother for the first time in 2005, ladies' man Rod was already a father to eight children from previous relationships.
Again talking on Loose Women, the model shocked viewers with her insight into parenting past a certain age.
Speaking about her 76-year-old husband, she said: "My rockstar has got the fitness of a 35-year-old and he’s not retired. So I don’t consider him in that older category."
The Loose Women presenter doesn't view her husband as an old man.
"It’s really been so amazing for my boys because of his traditional values and the morals that he’s instilled and the boys have naturally picked up, those kind of more old-fashioned values. I think the younger generation, they sort of skip over those things."
As the panel further discussed the difference between men and women having children older, the mum-of-two left her colleagues gobsmacked with an additional thought.
"But men like to spread their seed, it's part of their generation," Penny added, as her fellow presenters gasped.
Penny on life without Rod
Marrying an older man often comes with the possibility that you will become a widow sooner than you'd expect.
Penny opened up in 2019 about her fears for when her now 76-year-old husband passes away.
The model has discussed her worries about losing Rod.
Speaking on Loose Women, the 50-year-old said: “Rod’s in his 70s, early 70s, and we have a huge family base at home."
"I do on occasions think, when I’m Rod’s age, I won’t have my husband and the children will be grown up and gone, and I kind of feel that I need to prepare."
The star went on to reveal that she plans to form friendships and pick up new hobbies to keep the loneliness at bay in her later years.
Rod on more bananas in the bedroom
While he gushes that sex with Penny is "still incredible", the rocker admits more kids are off the agenda.
Rod, who shares sons Alastair and Aiden with his 50-year-old wife likened his manhood to a banana back in 2019 in an interview with The Sun.
“The banana is back in the fruit bowl!” the one-time Lothario said.
He added: “My cue is back in the rack.”
The British songwriter has a total of eight children with various women and in 2011, became a grandfather when daughter Kimberly Stewart gave birth to her first child with Oscar-winning actor Benicio Del Toro.
