Ginger Spice Geri Halliwell went all Posh as she pushed the Queen's essay writing competition.

But the 48-year-old was teased for her rather royal accent as she appeared in a video telling fans all about it.

Geri is an ambassador for the Royal Commonwealth Society.

Every year she lends a hand to help pick the winner of a competition launched by Her Majesty for young people to showcase their essay-writing talent.

The Spice Girl went a little regal on an Instagram video telling everyone there isn't long left to enter – and it didn't go unnoticed.

"Hello there, I am popping in to say there is just two weeks left to enter the Queen's essay competition," she said.

Many fans were quick to pick her up on a rather royal way of addressing her followers.

One commented: "When did you start speaking like that? Too funny!"

Another said: "Oh darling how aristocratic one looks! Always a Watford girl to me."

A third said: "Why are you trying to sound like the Queen? It’s odd. Speak normally, be you."

The pokes didn't stop there as one pop fan put: "Ginger think she’s Posh!"

It has been said that Geri made £3.5m in two years – despite the Spice Girls reunion being cancelled.

Her company Wonderful Productions released their accounts last month and it showed she made a £122,000 profit in the year ending August 31 2020.

She paid herself £200,000 in dividends, which equates to a generous £547 per day.

Geri also bought £647,000 worth of stocks and shares.

She has retained a £3,070,247 in her company – including an impressive £2,495,124 in cash, The Sun reports.

It means her company has made £3.5m profit in two years.

The total would have been even more if the 25-year Spice Girl reunion was cancelled.

Geri, Mel B, Mel C, and Emma Bunton were all set to perform across America, Europe, and Australia to mark the occasion but had to pull the plug.
