Her character has been involved in a truck smash, a romance with her step-brother, she ploughed her car into a vicar and has fallen in love with her husband's transgender brother.

Thankfully for Isabel Hodgins, life off camera is a little less tumultuous compared to that of troubled Victoria Sugden.

The 27-year-old has been at the centre of plenty of eventful storylines over the years, but away from the Dales it's totally different.

Though there was one harrowing day when she found herself at in the middle of what would be the year's most devastating real-life story.

The star and her pals attended the Ariana Grande concert back in 2017 which caused shockwaves across the world.

Witnessing the devastating Manchester terror attacks, Isabel was mercifully leaving the arena when the bomb detonated.

Isabel added: "We didn’t know if a balloon had gone off, because balloons had been released in the concert, so we didn’t know if it was that.

"As we got out, everybody was screaming and crying, and then the corridor was full of – it smelled of burning, and there was quite a lot of smoke as we were leaving."

Nobody will ever forget that day, but thankfully she had family there for support.

The actress shocked her followers last year when she posted a snap with someone who appeared to be her twin sister.

Isabel uploaded the picture with Charleigh to her Instagram account and her comments were flooded.

But while that would make a cute story, she had some news for the fans.

Isabel had to clarify that she doesn’t have a twin – they just look very very similar, and Charleigh is in fact her older sister.

They have another brother, Adam, who last year celebrated his 30 th birthday.

The Emmerdale star often shares photos of another very precious family member.

Isabel's adorable pug dog Pierre is a regular feature on her social media channels.

Isabel also had to have eye surgery to get to the bottom of a sight issue

She keeps her cards very close to her chest when it comes to her love life but in 2019 she was said to have split from co-star Michael Parr after four years of dating.

The actor, who played Ross Barton on the ITV soap, set off for a new life in America and the pair called it a day.

Isabel has since kept us guessing, but you won't find her while swiping.

She has previously vowed she would “never use Tinder” due to her celebrity status.

“I personally wouldn’t go on Tinder – but I know there are people here who are. It is harder to meet someone when you are in the public eye,” she said in 2019.

If she does find that special someone, kids may not be on the cards.

She says the trauma of giving birth on screen has put her off having children.

She said: “It hasn’t made me broody at all because I know what’s to come. It’s exhausting – well done anyone who does it. But no thank you.”
