A newborn baby boy has been named Hypertext Mark-up Language Rayo Pascual by his dad who wanted to pay homage to his career as a web designer.

Hypertext Mark-up Language – who will be known as HTML – was born in the Philippines and his dad Mac Pascual says the unique name is actually following a family tradition.

Both he and his sister were featured in the news back in 2014 after their parents named them both after food.

Mac is short for 'Macaroni ’85' whilst his sister's official name is 'Spaghetti ’88' – with the number representing the year they were born

He added that this sister Spaghetti has two children called 'Cheese Pimiento' and 'Parmesan Cheese' who go by the nicknames 'Chippy' and 'Peewee'.

HTML was born healthy weighing 2.25 kilogrammes (4.9 lbs) at the Bulacan Medical Mission Group Cooperative Hospital.

HTML's aunt, Sincerely Pascual, snapped a picture of the new member of her family and posted it on Facebook with the caption 'Welcome to the world HTML' .

The post quickly racked up interest and it has now been shared almost 9,000 times whilst comment have come flooding in.

Some Netizens reacted by mocking the name and sarcastically suggesting other coding acronyms for future children.

HTML joins other babies who became hotly discussed topics from birth thanks to their obscure names.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, and Claire Boucher, better known as Grimes, made headlines when they named their son X Æ A-12 after he was born in May 2020.
