Arsenal are expected to be one of the busiest teams in the transfer window this summer following their hugely disappointing 2020-21 campaign.

Manager Mikel Arteta knows he will be under big pressure to deliver and the Gunners will be expected to at the very least challenge for a place in the top four.

In order to do that they will need to make a number of changes, and it would be no surprise at all to see a large number of arrivals and departures over the next few months.

Here are all the latest rumours coming out of the Emirates…

Gunners given Fekir hope

Nabil Fekir has long been linked with Arsenal

Real Betis attacking midfielder Nabil Fekir is a player who Arsenal have been linked with a number of times in the past.

The 27-year-old Frenchman had another impressive season in La Liga, making 33 appearances and scoring five times.

The Gunners are believed to be lining up another attempt to lure him to north London, and Betis' sporting director Antonio Cordon has appeared to give them hope that a deal could be done.

When asked about potential departures, he said: “At no club in the world is there a non-transferable player if tempting offers arrive.

“For us, we want to keep him (Fekir), so if someone wants to come for him, they will have to pay a lot of money.”

Some reports claim that Arsenal have had an opening £21.4m bid for Fekir rejected, but Cordon's comments suggest a slightly higher offer could well be enough to tempt them to sell.

Xhaka talks hit 'stalemate'

It had looked only a matter of time until Granit Xhaka's proposed move to Roma was confirmed.

But according to Corriere dello Sport the two clubs have reached a deadlock in negotiations over a transfer fee, with Arsenal demanding £17m and Roma currently not willing to go higher than £12.8m.

Xhaka himself is thought to have agreed terms with Roma, and is keen to make the switch to Serie A.

But it remains to be seen if the two clubs can reach an agreement, and it is believed the deal is not likely to be made official anytime soon.

Ramsey return still possible

Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey has recently been linked with a sensational return to Arsenal just two years after departing the Emirates to make the move to Italy.

Some reports have claimed the Gunners would be open to re-signing the Welshman, and the 30-year-old admitted in an interview with Foot Mercato that he has been going through a difficult time in Turin.

“The last two seasons at Juventus have been very difficult, frustrating, not just from a physical point of view," he said. "I want a place where I can feel good again.

“There have been many factors and changes that I haven’t been used to. In the end, now I have got my own team around me who are focused on me, to get myself into the best possible shape.

“Football is a team sport and a lot of the time it is about the team and everybody doing the same things, when maybe some players need a bit more attention."
