EastEnders actress Louisa Lytton has revealed she fell pregnant at the same time as dealing with a harrowing miscarriage storyline on the BBC soap.
The 32-year-old TV star is expecting her first child with 30-year-old fiancé Ben Bhanvra – with the pair due to welcome their bundle of joy later this year.
Louisa and Ben fell pregnant during lockdown after deciding to postpone their twice already postponed wedding and opted to make the life decision to start a family together instead.
But Louisa says she found her private life and professional life overlapping in an anxiety inducing way as her EastEnders character, Ruby Allen, went through a miscarriage while she was in the early stages of her own pregnancy.

Louisa kept her news secret from the vast majority of her co-stars and colleagues while filming the challenging scenes.
Opening up about her experience, Louisa told Fabulous magazine: “It was weird, because naturally that was always at the forefront of my mind, so it was quite hard to take myself away from my story line and be at home and enjoy being pregnant.
“It became difficult to differentiate between work and home in my head. I hadn’t had the reassurance of a scan, so at times I was almost trying to protect myself by acting like it wasn’t really happening.

“I think it’s natural to have those worries in the first 12 weeks, but the story line heightened how I would have been feeling anyway.”
Ruby’s pregnancy story line took a further twist when EastEnders bosses decided to cover a condition called endometriosis via Louisa's character.
The star explained endometriosis is a topic that is close to her heart as her cousin and some of her friends have discovered they suffer from the condition – which the NHS describe as “a common condition where small pieces of the womb lining (the endometrium) are found outside the womb.”
Louisa says she became protective of Ruby’s endometriosis story line – and wanted to do it justice to help her family, friends, and female viewers.
Louisa and Ben announced their happy news in March
Louisa and Ben have been engaged for two years and have had to postpone their wedding twice
She said: “It took her seven years [for my cousin] to get her diagnosis and I’ve received tons of messages on social media from women who all say about how long it takes.
“It’s only with that diagnosis that you look at what can and can’t be done for you, and by then, sadly, it might have already affected a woman’s fertility.
“It’s a condition that gets worse over time, yet it can take the NHS up to 10 years to diagnose it. What chance have women got when they’re going to the doctor with their symptoms but being pushed aside for years until, in some cases, it’s too late? It’s terrible.”
