The Prince of Wales has called on leaders of the G7 nations to use "political will" and "business ingenuity" to tackle both the coronavirus pandemic and climate change.

He was addressing leaders from the UK, US, Germany, France, Italy, Canada, Japan and the European Union who had gathered for an evening reception on Friday, which was being hosted by the Royal Family at Cornwall’s Eden Project, an attraction that features the world’s largest indoor rainforest within giant domes.

Borrowing the phrase "build back better" used by both Prime Minister Boris Johnson and US President Joe Biden, he said in order to do so "we need, above all, a truly effective partnership between government and business”.

The agenda for the three-day G7 Summit includes talks on climate change, the global response to Covid-19, the taxation of multinational corporations and Brexit.
