Four boys aged 14 and 15 have been arrested after a man in his 20s was allegedly murdered on a footpath.

Officers were called at around 7.20pm yesterday to the scene near Stonebridge Close in Telford following reports that a man was seriously injured.

The victim was taken to hospital by ambulance, but sadly died later in the evening, officers confirmed.

His death is being treated as suspicious and a police investigation is ongoing.

Of the four teenage boys arrested on suspicion of murder, one is 14 years old and three are 15 years old.

A 42-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man have also been arrested on suspicion of assisting offenders, West Mercia Police said.

As of this morning, the six arrested people remain in police custody.

Chief Inspector Helen Kinrade said: “We understand this will be extremely concerning to the community.

“We would like to reassure the public that the investigation is ongoing and this is believed to be an isolated incident.”
