Nadhim Zahawi has cast doubt over June 21 reopening as he stressed that the Government has to be "really careful" not to take a step backwards.

The Vaccines Minister praised the progress the UK has made to battle the Covid-19 pandemic, with a successful vaccine rollout leading to lower infection rates.

He also commented that the virus would attempt to survive by continuing to mutate.

When asked about June 21 reopening Zahawi warned that the Government "have to be really careful, so those hard won wars against the virus are not squandered."
