A mystery male pop star was arrested on suspicion of assaulting his girlfriend.

The TV regular, who is in his 30s, has had many hits and successful albums in his high-flying singing career.

An alleged furious row broke out between the couple sparking concerns among the neighbours.

The unnamed woman told officers she sustained minor injuries at her flat on Tuesday.

Neighbours apparently heard screaming when the alleged incident unfolded behind closed doors at around 6pm at a property in London.

The singer, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was handcuffed and taken to a South London police station.

He was arrested on suspicion of common assault before being bailed until the end of the month.

It's understood police took fingerprints and a DNA swab at the police station.

Met Police confirmed officers were alerted to a disturbance at 6.03pm on Tuesday and swooped to the scene to investigate.

They said: “Officers attended and a woman reported minor injuries. Inquiries are ongoing.”

The unnamed woman told officers she didn't need to attend hospital for her minor injuries.

A source told The Sun of the arrest: “Apparently, he had a row with a girlfriend that ended up getting out of hand.

“There was a lot of screaming and one of the woman’s neighbours called the police.

“They turned up, nicked him and led him away.”
