An obese man who couldn't go up a flight of stairs without feeling out of breath has shed half of his body weight by ditching sausage rolls and takeaways.
Josh Temple, 23, hadn't gone for a run since his school days but since his extraordinary weight loss, he can now run 5k without any issues.
He had started putting on weight as a child and suffered from an irritable stomach, taking medicines that in turn made him gain more weight.
“I knew there was a problem so I tried cutting down on food and trying salads and stuff but, without the knowledge, I couldn't do it," he told WalesOnline.
He said he only realised how bad the situation had become when he got to the top of the stairs to reach his office one day and realised how much it took him to recover.

“I got to the stage where I was getting out of breath so easily, just walking a couple of feet and up the stairs. It was worrying me,” said Josh.
The 23-year-old from Penderry Road, Penlan, Swansea, weighed 28 stone 7.5 pounds in February, 2020.
Josh and his mother had spoken about joining Slimming World but they kept putting it off due to birthdays and Christmasses.
He said: “We got to the stage where we both looked at each other and said we need to do it and we joined and I haven't looked back since.”
But he said the day he walked into Slimming World, he felt at home because everybody was there for the same reason.
“My consultant Amanda is so supportive and without her and the support of everyone who goes, It wouldn't have been as achievable for me as it has been.”
A short time after Josh joined Slimming World he could feel his clothes getting looser.
He recalled going into work as a depot assistant for First Cymru after working from home for a while and his boss asked him if he was okay because he could tell Josh had lost a lot of weight.
”That recognition gave me a real drive to carry on and lose weight,” he added.

Since February, 2020, Josh has lost an amazing 13.5 stone and has done things he never would have imagined.
In January this year he completed the Couch to 5k despite the fact he hadn't run since school.
He has also taken up cycling which is something he also never thought he could ever do being the weight he previously was.
For lunch at work Josh used to eat a sandwich, crisps, chocolate biscuit and a yogurt, but now he takes in delicious salads, omelettes and other leftovers from meals.
For dinner, Josh would have home cooked meals but they’d be with oven chips or he’d have a takeaway with snacks in between such as a sausage roll and crisps. Now he has all fresh cooked food that's on his Slimming World plan.

He hasn't had any McDonald's or takeaways since the Saturday after he joined the group in February last year.
Thanks to Slimming World, he said he could still enjoy small treats and have their alternative meals instead of having a takeaway.
He added: “I still have the odd chocolate bar or packet of crisps but it’s a lot more controlled. I don't find myself reaching for comfort food anymore.
"Slimming World do the Iceland food range, so we have the curries in that and we make our own Slimming World-friendly fakeaways.
"You get the feeling of being naughty but it's still on plan.
"I’ve still got a little way to go until I get to the point where I want to be but I'm closer now than I ever was. Losing weight has opened up so many opportunities for me.”
Josh's Slimming World consultant, Amanda Faulkner, 56, from Swansea said: “One of the amazing things that I love about Josh is that even from day one he joined, he had fantastic determination.
"He had this wonderful passion behind him and you can just tell that he was determined. Whenever I look at Josh now, I burst with pride for him.
"The biggest achievement for anybody is seeing their health change and seeing them do something they couldn't do before and that's exactly what Josh has done and I'm so proud of him.”
