Jude Bellingham is set to open talks with Borussia Dortmund about a new contract.

The 17-year-old England midfielder had a sensational first season in the Bundesliga following his £25million move from Birmingham last summer.

And the German club want to reward him by doubling his wages to around £85,000-a-week.

They have tabled an offer to extend his stay with the club by a further two years until 2025, with the deal expected to include a hefty buy-out clause.

Liverpool have been linked with a move to bring Bellingham back to England and Manchester City have also been monitoring his progress.

Bellingham produced two blistering performances against City in the Champions League and scored a sensational goal in the second leg.

Dortmund have no intention of cashing in on Bellingham less than 12 months after making him the most expensive 17-year-old in football.

They are confident of raising more than £80million by selling Jadon Sancho to Manchester United this summer.

The Stourbridge-born midfielder is expected to play a key role in England's bid for glory this summer.

Bellingham made 46 appearances for Dortmund last season – and excelled in their Champions League campaign.

He helped them finish fourth in the Bundesliga and started the German Cup final win over RB Leipzig.

Gareth Southgate gave Bellingham his England debut against the Republic of Ireland at Wembley in November and he has won four caps.

The midfielder, along with Sancho, was hailed as a "terrifying" English talent by former Three Lions striker Ian Wright earlier this week.

"When you look at (Jack) Grealish, Sancho and Bellingham – you have the capability of calling on those three players," said Wright.

"They are ripping teams apart. Can you imagine those three when they are riffing off each other? What they could do to the opposing team! It’s frightening, it’s terrifying!"
