Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash were thrilled to announce that they are expecting their second child together after 'trying for another pickle'.

The 31-year-old Loose Women star, who is also set to get married this summer, has been inundated with heartwarming messages after she confirmed the exciting news on social media.

However, alongside her announcement, Stacey also explained to fans that it hadn't been an easy journey and she had suffered 'quite a few losses' before her baby joy.

In a series of Instagram stories, the mum of three broke her social media silence today to open up about what the couple had been going through as they tried for a baby. She also revealed for the first time that she had sadly suffered a miscarriage in the past.

In her first post, the mum of three explained that she was feeling 'nervous for many reasons' ahead of her baby announcement.

Stacey then shared the heartbreaking news that she had previously suffered a miscarriage while trying for their second child and the couple had decided to stop trying.

She wrote: "For a really long time we've been trying for another pickle… It didn't work out and this was our news quite a few times… "

In the clip, Stacey also shared a blurred-out document that read: "Diagnosis based on ultrasound findings: complete miscarriage."

She went on: "We decided we were so lucky to already have our boys. It is the biggest privilege in life and we are so grateful to be parents so we stopped trying and counted ourselves so so so blessed already."

Despite her previous heartbreaking loss, it appears that mother nature had other plans, and Stacey and Joe received quite a pleasant surprise when they heard the sound of a heartbeat during an ultrasound this week.

She has since unveiled a gorgeous family photo that featured the ultrasound picture of their unborn baby. Alongside the snap, Stacey said she was grateful and admitted that she didn't think she would have the chance to fall pregnant again.

"We are growing another pickle. We’ve never felt so grateful… I have no words. We didn’t think we would get the chance. We love you all to the moon and back. Lots of love From Me, Joe, Harry, Zach, Leighton, Rex, and our little pickle," she wrote.

Stacey is already a proud mum to sons Leighton and Zachary from previous relationships as well as sharing Rex with her husband-to-be, Joe.

While it appears that this is the first time Stacey has publicly spoken about suffering a miscarriage, she had previously opened up about why she decided to wait before revealing she was expecting her sons.

Speaking on the Loose Women panel in 2020, Stacey explained that she 'knew the feeling' when it came to being nervous about announcing a pregnancy.

She said in January 2020: "You're growing a human, for some people it takes a really, really long time to get there, to get to the place where you're pregnant and there's not any definitive stats out there but in NCT statistics almost 70% of miscarriages happen in the first 12 weeks.

"So I don't think it's irrational for women to say, you know what, i just want to keep this inside and nurture it inside with my close family until I get past those 12 week stage.

"I feel like it's each to their own. I understand why you might want to shout it from the rooftops from the minute you conceive, I know that feeling."
