A model who has an IQ of 136 and is a member of Mensa says men are "intimidated" by her intelligence.

Cancice Kloss, from New York, excelled at school and relished the subjects her other peers hated, like maths and science – memorising the periodic table when she was just eight "for fun".

Despite her incredible intelligence, Candice says her job as a model gives people he wrong impression of her.

But looks can be deceiving – as the beauty has been a member of Mensa since she was 17. According to the IQ scale, anyone with a score of 120-140 is considered to have 'very superior intelligence'. An IQ above 140 is considered a 'genius'.

At 136, Candice is in the top two per cent of the world's population for intelligence.

"I don’t really tell people," she said. "Some of my close friends know, but since we’re so close I don’t think it changes their opinion of me.

"I think that men are definitely surprised when they find out. Some find it sexy but others find it intimidating for some reason."

Growing up, Candice said she always learnt things quickly but she described herself as "shy and awkward-looking."

She said: “I had a group of fairly nerdy friends and was also a tomboy so I got made fun of for being different.

"Now I have gained confidence but can still be shy, so the concept of men finding me sexy is surprising."

Candice went to the University of Massachusetts at just 17 to study psychology – but after getting off to a great start, she was enticed by a career as an estate agent and dropped out in 2011.

"My parents were definitely worried when I dropped out in 2011. Eventually they saw I was happy and had a good sense for business," she explained.

In time she decided to go back to university – but once again something pulled her away.

A friend suggested she should quit her studies to join the OnlyFans platform – and the allure of making money was too much to resist.

Candice said: “The possible income I could make from OnlyFans was much more than the starting salary with an economics degree, and even greater than some higher salaries after years of work.”

Despite having an account for just over a year, Candice now makes $21,000 a month on the subscription site.

She also runs an Instagram account (@candicekloss), where she has over 4,000 followers.

Despite her life taking a very different turn, Candice has no regrets – and loves the freedom of her job.

She said: “I like to work hard because it’s challenging but the other side of me really loves to relax and try new things for fun.

“The best thing about my job is that I can live and work wherever I want, and can travel as much as I want.

“I would not be able to be happy if I had to be at an office at the same time every day and do the same things.”

Candice, who is single, is using her new-found independence and salary to plan a home for the future – either in Europe or New York.

She said: "My goal is to buy properties and have more time to travel.

"I like to work hard because it’s challenging but the other side of me really loves to relax and try new things for fun.

"I have become much more responsible with finances and invest a high portion in selling stock options, which brings additional income."
