Chris Fountain looked quite different as he showed off his long locks while enjoying lunch with his pal Ryan Thomas.

The former Coronation Street actor, who played Tommy Duckworth in the ITV soap until 2013, appears to have grown out his hair during the recent lockdown.

In a series of social media videos that the actors shared on their Instagram pages, Ryan was trying to encourage Chris to try an oyster as they celebrated his birthday lunch.

The duo were joined by Ryan's fiancée Lucy Mecklenburgh and baby Roman as they marked Ryan's 37th birthday.

Donning a pale blue top and showing off his longer locks swept to one side in the clips, Chris repeatedly turned down the offer of eating the slimy snack.

Chris, who had never tried an oyster in his life, was not pleased with the challenge and said the seafood looked 'horrific'.

"I don't like oysters. I've tried muscles… it looks horrific and it's cold," Chris said toward the camera.

Eventually, birthday boy Thomas managed to convince his pal to eat an oyster and recorded the hilarious moment for his fans.

After enjoying an expensive birthday lunch, it appears the group then went on to further celebrations with more of their pals.

Last year, it was revealed that Chris was actually stranded in Bali after he was unable to return back to the UK amid the pandemic.

At the time, the actor and his friends decided to make the most of a bad situation and took themselves to a remote part of the Indonesian island.

Chris Fountain used to have a much shorter do when he appeared in Coronation Street

In March he shared a snap of himself in front of a sprawling landscape and explained: "Currently stuck in Bali, So me and my friends travelled to a remote part of the island to distance ourselves from the masses.

"Everywhere is eerily quiet. No flights home as yet and no obvious right answers as to what to do, missing my family and friends but trying to make the best of the situation.

"To everyone at home, stay safe, be kind and do the right thing to get this virus stopped as soon as possible."

Chris was eventually able to return to the UK, and more recently he was spotted supporting his best friend Ryan after he completed 10 marathons in 10 days.

Alongside a huge group of supporters, friends and family, Chris was there to welcome Ryan when he arrived in Manchester after the gruelling challenge.
