Ryan Reynolds has admitted that his daughters inspired him to open up about he mental health struggles.
The actor, 44, discussed his personal battle with anxiety last month to mark Mental Health Awareness month.
And he has thanked his three daughters for giving him the courage to speak out and try to help others with the disorder feel more comfortable with the diagnosis.
Ryan, who also is co-owner of Wrexham football club, shares three daughters with his wife Blake Lively – James, six, Inez, four and one-year-old Betty.
He took to Instagram at the end of May to say: "One of the reasons I'm posting this so late is I overschedule myself and important things slip. And one of the reasons I overschedule myself is my lifelong pal, anxiety.

"I know I'm not alone and more importantly, to all those like me who overschedule, overthink, overwork, over-worry and over-everything, please know you're not alone."
And now the actor has discussed his reasons for speaking out with ET Online : "Part of it is that I have three daughters at home and part of my job as a parent is to model behaviours and model what it's like to be sad and model what it's like to be anxious, or angry. That there's space for all these things."

He admitted that these feelings weren't discussed in his childhood as his parents "come from a different generation".
But he added that he wants to create a conversation around mental health and said that his worst days were when he felt alone.
"So I think when people talk about it, I don't necessarily dwell on it or lament on it, but I think it's important to talk about it. And when you talk about it, it kind of sets other people free," he continued.

He revealed that he hoped that by speaking out, others would be able too as well.
And he admits that it could help people from totally different worlds to feel a type of connection.
Salma Hayek, who stars alongside Ryan in their new movie called The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard, also said that "a lot of the really, extremely smart people suffer from anxiety".

She said that people can feel as though something is wrong with them when it's not.
"It's part of having an intellect that's very easily stimulated and it's just about channeling that," she said.
And Ryan admitted that switching off is something he definitely struggles with.
