Princess Eugenie has shared an adorable new photo of baby August as they stroll through Windsor to mark World Environment Day.

Since giving birth on February 9, the Queen's granddaughter, 31, has not made many public appearances with her new bundle of joy.

But the pair ventured out for a walk around the grounds of what appeared to be Frogmore Cottage, and the proud mum was quick to post an image of her baby as she also urged people to protect 'our precious planet'.

A smiling Eugenie could be seen wearing sunglasses and standing next to daffodils, with baby August strapped to her chest in a baby carrier .

August's face is hidden from the camera, but the top of his bear onesie can be seen poking over the baby harness.

Along with the picture, Prince William's cousin wrote on Instagram : 'Environment Day 2021!! Thank you world for giving us such a beautiful place to live,' the princess wrote in the caption alongside her post on Saturday.

⁣'To mark this day I wanted to share some photos over the years (and more recent ones ) that remind me how amazing our environment is and how we must always protect it.'

'Beautiful reminders of our precious planet,' another person wrote. 'Such awesome pictures truly precious memories,' another commented.

'Beautiful family. Nice to see the baby out and about. Great photos,' a third person said, with another adding: 'Thank you for sharing these gorgeous photos!'

Princess Eugenie has only shared four pictures of August on her Instagram page since he was born. And only one of the images has his face appearing.

The photograph was posted the day before Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced the birth of their baby daughter Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor on Sunday.

A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: “The Queen, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been informed and are delighted with the news of the birth of a daughter for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.”

Princess Eugenie married Jack Brooksbank in 2018 after dating for seven years.

Their son – whose full name is August Philip Hawke Brooksbank – is named after Queen Victoria's consort Prince Albert, who had Augustus as a middle name. He is currently twelfth in line to the throne.

Last month, Buckingham Palace announced that Princess Eugenie's older sister Princess Beatrice, 32, is pregnant with her first baby.

This will be the second child for her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, who has a son from a previous relationship.

World Environment Day, celebrated annually on June 5, is the United Nations day for promoting awareness and action to protect the planet and its environments.

The day has been marked since 1972, with 2021's theme being '‘Ecosystem Restoration', with the day being hosted this year in Pakistan.
