The Kardashian family have Lindsay Lohan to thank for their fame as they only managed to land their reality TV show after the actress pulled out of plans to film her own series in the aftermath of her DUI arrest.
Kim Kardashian and her sisters shot to international stardom after they debuted their fly-on-the-wall series Keeping Up With The Kardashians back in 2007.
The series was a huge hit, but it almost never happened as bosses at E! were actually moving forward with a reality show starring Lindsay instead.
However, Lindsay's show was canned unexpectedly when she pulled out of filming following her DUI arrest in July 2007 – and it left E! chiefs with a hole in their TV schedule that they urgently needed to fill.
They opted to take a chance on the Kardashians and it proved to be an extremely lucrative decision for the network.

Farnaz Farjam, executive producer at Bunim Murray Productions – the company behind KUWTC – explained what happened to the Los Angeles Times.
She said: "There was a programming hole [at E!]. There was supposed to be a series with Lindsay Lohan during a time slot, and then Lindsay got a DUI and pulled out last minute.
"So they had to fill this hole within, like, I think it was like eight weeks from the day I came on."

Lindsay was arrested in Santa Monica in July 2007 on suspicion of driving under the influence, driving on a suspended license and possession of cocaine.
A month later, she pleaded guilty to misdemeanour cocaine use and driving under the influence
The actress was sentenced to a day in jail 10 days of community service as well as being placed on probation for three years.
She ended up serving just 84 minutes behind bars at a jail in California before being released early due to overcrowding.

It took seven years, but the Mean Girls star did eventually get her own reality series onto TV.
She filmed self-titled show Lindsay for the Oprah Winfrey Network following her move to New York after completing a stint in rehab.
The show ran for eight episodes in 2014.
Keeping Up With The Kardashians became E!'s biggest reality show, propelling Kim and her sisters to international fame and spawning spin-offs including Kourtney and Kim Take Miami and Life of Kylie.
It ran for 20 seasons, but is due to come to an end next week with the final episode scheduled to air on June 10.
