UK Games retailer GAME, have today announced they are offering a brand new Xbox Series S game console to those who trade in any Xbox One, PlayStation 4 or Nintendo Switch systems.
Microsofts new all-digital, next-gen console normally retails for £249.99, so the offer is bound to turn many gamers heads, especially with many wanting to clear out their old machines that are gathering dust on the shelves.
With this offer, you can even get the Series S for a staggering £39.99 if you are trade-in a Nintendo Switch, or a decent £49.99 if trading a Sony PS4 Pro 1TB or Xbox One X 1TB.
This chart lists how much you will pay depending on which device you trade-in
The Xbox Series S is the all-digital smaller sibling to the more powerful Series X. Both were released in November last year, with Sony's PS5 releasing around the same time.
The Series S features an 8-Core AMD Zen 2 CPU, clocked at a 3.6GHz, 10GB of GGDR6 RAM, and an AMD GPU clocked at 4 Teraflops.
Storage for the system is 512Gb of internal memory and features the same Xbox Velocity Architecture as the Series X for fast loading and quick resume functionality.
The entry-level Xbox Series S run games at a targeted resolution of 1440p and upscale to 4K which means they look absolutely great and is perfect for the average gamer.
In addition, the games subscription service Xbox Game Pass offers over 100 fantastic games starting at £1 for three months combined with GAME's offer means Microsoft will be unstoppable.
Head of Xbox Phill Spencer said in an interview with Kotaku the Series S would sell better than its big brother the Series X.
“I think, over the generation, our expectation would be that price really matters and that you would see the Series S sell more,” said Spencer.
The Xbox Series S, X and PS5 all suffered supply shortages shortly after release but have since been restocked at most outlets.
