Brian McFadden and fiancée Danielle Parkinson are proud new parents to daughter Ruby-Jean – who started to arrive while the pair were out playing golf.

The 41-year-old singer and his 39-year-old fiancée welcomed their daughter last month – with a dramatic birth beginning on the golf course.

Brian and Danielle’s path to parenthood has been difficult, with the couple experiencing the heartbreak of two miscarriages before baby Ruby-Jean arrived on May 8.

Their daughter had been due to arrive via a planned c-section, but decided to arrive two days ahead of schedule, while her parents least expected it.

“A fortnight before, I started doing different things to help, like swimming, and I had an ECV – which is a manipulation where the doctors try to move her – as I would have preferred a natural birth, but that didn’t work.

“I ended up going into labour two days before my C-section and having an emergency one. I don’t know if because of everything I was trying, I ended up inducing labour!”

Danielle confirmed she was playing golf with her waters breaking at the 15th hole, but she went on to complete the round and later went to hospital.

She continued: “I got seen and I was only 1cm dilated. But then, it sounds disgusting, she pooed inside me and that means they’re in a bit of distress, so they took me straight to the emergency bit.

“I was kind of thankful she’d done that as the contractions were the worst pain I’ve ever experienced. We’d read loads about hypnobirthing and breathing through it, but gas and air didn’t touch the sides.

“I was in agony. I said, ‘If we do this again I’m having an epidural and I will take all the pain relief!’”
