A mum has created an amazing 'Premier Inn-inspired' hotel room for her ill son's lockdown birthday.

Louise Pedlar came up with the idea for her son Noah's sixth birthday in order to give him a special night at home.

Noah was born with Spina Bifida and a range of other life-threatening conditions, but the youngster is obsessed with staying at Premier Inn hotels, the Daily Record reports.

Louise, 31, says when Noah was just one doctors told her and and dad Stuart, 31, that their baby boy had fluid on his spine which, if it moves to his brain, will cause a 'catastrophic life-ending incident'.

Since then the couple along with daughter Heidi, nine, have been trying to give Noah 'the best life for each day he is here with us'.

Noah has undergone 42 operations in his six years and Louise, who is from Aberdeenshire, says he has spent so much time travelling to various hospitals for specialist treatments and staying overnight in Premier Inns that he now considers a night in the budget hotel a holiday.

She said: "Because he has had so many visits to different hospitals, quite often they can be far away so we need to spend at least a night in a hotel beforehand.

"We always just stay in Premier Inn because they're everywhere and now Noah loves them. He calls them 'The Moon Hotel' and loves that everything is purple.

"Any time we have stayed the staff have let him take away a key card or a menu as a memento.

"But last year we were shielding so didn't go anywhere and he has missed his holiday to the Premier Inn.

"So for his birthday this week I was trying to think of ways to make is special in lockdown so we set up a Premier Inn hotel room in our living room and he and Heidi had a movie night and sleepover.

"His face was a picture when he seen it. He was over the moon."

Louise said, despite his many heath battles her brave boy has a great life and is always happy.

She added: "We just try to make the most of everything and each day he is here with us.

"It's hard to put into words how great his life is, even though he has all these health conditions. He is an amazing little boy."
