Mohamed Salah's "demanding" personality pushes him to be the best but that will always result in interest from elsewhere, according to his Liverpool team-mate Fabinho.

The Egyptian is into his fourth season of an immensely successful career at Anfield.

But recently the striker opened the door to a move away by refusing to rule out a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona.

Salah's exploits in front of goal have been sensational since he joined from Roma in the summer of 2017.

The 28-year-old has scored 111 times for the Reds en route to securing Premier League and Champions League winners medals.

Fabinho though is confident that Salah is "happy" on Merseyside and accepts that the rumour mill comes with being successful.

"Big players will always have their names involved in rumours," he told Sky Sports.

"Salah plays for Liverpool, one of the biggest teams in the world. So I think it's normal to see his name linked to other teams, especially from different leagues.

“Anyway, I see him very happy here and pleased with his performances this season.

“He's very demanding with himself, he wants to be the best, he wants to help the team and works hard for it.

“It's always been the case and it hasn't changed at all. He keeps scoring goals, which everyone is used to seeing. In the changing room he's always talking to everyone and making jokes.

“I don't see anything affecting him. Overall, I am not following the news so I'm not sure about any rumours. As I said, top quality players will always be linked to big clubs.”

Salah has been Liverpool's top scorer in each of the three seasons he's been at the club.

His haul of 32 in his debut year is a Premier League high across a 38 game season.
