Christine Lampard has revealed that she is due to give birth to her second child in April as she shared her concern about welcoming a child during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The mum, 41, is expecting her second baby with husband Frank Lampard, with the pair sharing their happy news over the weekend.

However speaking on Loose Women today, Christine said that the thought of giving birth during the health crisis has left with her a number of concerns – including going into the delivery room alone.

"It's the unknown, you don't quite what the outcome is going to be," said Christine.

"You have to look after yourself as best you can.

"I am thinking ahead to April and what will happen then. Hopefully the world will be a better place, but ideally I'd like Frank beside me. I don't want to do it on my own.

"There's a lot of uncertainty and I'm being overprotective and as overcautious as I can. I'm trying to be really sensible. It's lonely going to hospital appointments on your own all of the time."

Following her appearance on Loose Women Christine shared a new picture of her showing her baby bump as she posed in a cosy red jumper.

The TV presenter is already mum to daughter Patricia, two, while Frank is dad to girls Luna, 15, and Isla, 13, from his first marriage.

Christine and Frank are said to have discovered their baby news just before Christmas.

Speaking about her April due date, Christine said: "It's not very far away. It'll be here before we know it, we can't really believe it.

"Frank is very, very excited. Football consumes 99 per cent of his brain but that one per cent he has left is very excited.

"It's a little bit of happiness to look forward to. It's brought a smile to my family and friends. It's something to look forward to throughout all the bleakness.

"It's a strange time to be pregnant, as much as it's stressful because you're trying to take care of everything and this little baby, but on the flipside you don't feel like you're missing out on anything because none of your family or friends are doing it anyway."
