One of the worst ways a relationship can end is through infidelity.
The pain of the person you love and trust most in the world, betraying you in that way is simply devastating.
But we can only imagine it's a million times worse if they cheat on you with another person who is close to you – say your best friend, or perhaps a relative.
This is the awful situation one woman claims to have found herself in after walking in on her husband in bed with her own mother.
The unnamed mum-of-three revealed all in a heartbreaking letter to The Sun's Dear Deidre advice column, hoping for answers on what to do next.

'My husband loves Liverpool FC more than me so I've started cheating on him'
In the letter, the 23-year-old woman told of how she and her husband (28) had been married for seven years and shared three children.
She explained that they'd found times particularly tough during the pandemic as her husband, a scaffolder, had lost work and they'd had to give up their home.
They then decided to move in with her mother until they got back on their feet.
She claims the house was incredibly crowded, but her mother didn't seem to mind having them there as it meant she got to see her grandchildren during lockdown.

The woman went on to say that she started to become a little suspicious something was going on when her husband kept going out at night with his mates and her mum also began meeting up with her own friends more often.
She brushed her fears off for a while though as "the truth was unthinkable".
However after catching the two of them in bed together, she was no longer able to deny what was right in front of her.
"I caught them out one day when I was planning to meet a friend in the park. My youngest was sick on the way there so I went home," she said.
"I could hear noises from upstairs and my husband was in Mum’s bed. It was clear they’d been having sex.
"I screamed at them both and told my husband to get out."
The husband has since gone to stay with one of his pals, but the wife finds herself reliving the pain everyday while stuck at home with her mum as she has nowhere else to go.
She added: "Mum is still here. She keeps crying and saying how sorry she is but I can’t get over it.
"I have nowhere else to live and I am in despair."
The advice columnist urged the woman to begin "processing" what had happened, for the sake of her children.
She adds that there is "no excuse" for what the husband has done but sympathises that her mum was likely lonely and vulnerable.
Despite this, she acknowledges that it would be a "big ask" to forgive her mum and suggests speaking with wellbeing advisors to help her get through this.
