Sheridan Smith has opened up about becoming a mum during the first coronavirus national lockdown, calling it a 'scary time'.

The Gavin and Stacey star, 39, and her fiancé Jamie Horn, 30, welcomed their baby son Billy back in May, and she explained she was "ok at first" when she was heavily pregnant during the start of the pandemic restrictions.

But when little Billy arrived three and a half weeks early, she found things difficult, especially as she didn't have help from her loved ones.

Speaking during a Q&A about her new Christmas show Jack and the Beanstalk: After Ever After, Sheridan said: "We were in lockdown for eight weeks after that with no help and we hadn't had antenatal classes, so it was a bit of a scary time."

"Our little man has arrived!" she told her 517,00 Instagram followers.

She first sparked rumours she was pregnant back in October, when she made reference to getting morning sickness.

The star was heading off to perform on a cruise ship when she announced she was suffering from the pregnancy symptom.
