Demi Lovato has debuted a brand new look as she makes a dramatic change to her appearance following the end of her engagement.

The 28-year-old hasn't had an easy time lately.

Demi, who has been open about her past struggles with addiction and mental health, dramatically split from Max Ehrich not long after they'd got engaged just five months after they started dating.

Weeks after the break-up, Max has been spotted in the arms of another singer – Mariah Angeliq – as they were spotted kissing and cuddling on a beach of Miami.

A day after the pictures emerged, Demi revealed she has dramatically changed up her look as she begins a new chapter and leaves the Max drama behind her.

The Confident singer chopped off her long locks to opt for an edgy, half-shaved mohawk with an undercut.

Her natural brunette shade was long gone as she dyed her hair blonde in the stunning transformation.

She posed up a storm in a series of snaps, showing off her new look in a black leather jacket and a pair of silver hoop earrings.

She first teased the new look by first sharing a photo of the shaved back of her head with the caption, "I did a thing …"

Demi’s photographer revealed her new hairstyle marks the star entering a new chapter of her life.

Angelo Kritikos reposted the image, writing, "Already obsessed with this new era …" and Lovato's stylist Siena captioned her post of the snap, "And to the next chapter …"

Demi’s new chapter comes after she cracked a savage joke that she had got engaged and ‘unengaged’ during lockdown as she made light of her crumbling relationship with ex-fiancé Max Ehrich at the People’s Choice Awards.

The Sorry Not Sorry singer, who hosted the 2020 awards, said that this year was the longest year of her life as she kicked off the long-awaited show.

Addressing the elephant in the room, she began: “Honestly this year has been the longest year of my life. Don't get me wrong, it started out amazing. I performed at the Grammy's and sung the national anthem at the Super Bowl.

"But then Covid hit, and everything shut down. So, I did what everyone else did.

“I went into lockdown mode and got engaged. I got into painting, photography, meditation, tested the limits of Postmates unlimited. I also didn't know this could happen, but I reached the end of Instagram four times.

"I binged seven seasons of Pretty Little Liars, got un-engaged, and then I went looking for aliens in the desert. So basically, the same as everyone else."

The former couple dated for five months before Max popped the all-important question to Demi.

Her savage jibe comes after reports that High School Musical 3 actor Max has moved on with a new girlfriend.

The handsome star sparked speculation about his blossoming romance with Sonika Vaid when he shared a number of loved-up snaps across his social media platforms.

However, sources close to the star have revealed his alleged romance with the American Idol contestant is "all for show".

"He wants to make it look like he's moving on with another woman, but they're not dating. She's in a full relationship and lives with her boyfriend," they told Page Six.

The source continued: "He's trying to get back at Demi and make her jealous. It's all phony."

Meanwhile, Demi remains single after she split from the star in September after their two-month engagement.
